Yup, just like that. As I study and learn, I’m growing to love me more and enjoy this life I’ve been given.
Being happy in the now doesn’t mean that I am complacent with the situations surrounding my life; it just means that I no longer sweat the small stuff. Worrying about tomorrow and the things I cannot control adds no value to my life. I’m learning to live the way Jesus and my ancestors intended me to: fearless, faithful and carefree.
Like Jesus taught during his first sermon in Matthew 6:25-27 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
None of my worries have added any positive values to my daily life. So why bother worrying & stressing? I know it’s easier said than done but taking conscious steps towards focusing on the now and the things I can control is more important than tomorrow.
I pray and let God handle it. It’s not easy but it definitely beats crying, being depressed and stressing out.
