What Do You Do When You’re Under Attack???

Lately, I’ve been under attack. I’m not just talking spiritually, but mentally and physically too. Why, even today, I was being attacked. My attackers today were killer flies! Now, I know what you’re thinking — “you were attacked by killer flies, really girl!” Lol. Yes, I was. 

Everywhere I went, they somehow would find me. I washed up today so I knew it couldn’t be funk they were following. Yet, every time I sat down to write, there a fly would come to annoy me. While cooking, flies were buzzing around the kitchen and dining room. Thankfully, yet cautiously, I prayed over my food and not one fly touched my plate. Still, it was a nuance struggle that kept me focused entirely on their buzzing sound and not on what I was supposed to be doing — writing. 

I spent seconds, minutes, darn near a half an hour trying to track down and kill every single fly that entered my domain. Finally, after one got away when I killed it’s brother / sister that chose to linger on my wall, as I celebrated my glorious victory, I realized the deeper meaning behind what I had experienced today. 

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10 NLT

Knowing that I was writing, doing what Christ had called me to do, the enemy was trying to distract and destroy my focus. He knew the very thing that I despised (INSECTS) so he sent (what felt like millions) of flies to come my way. Yet God, like always, prevailed! My will and determination to get a message out today about God trumped (no pun intended) the enemy’s planned attack on my life. 

Isn’t it funny how God works!?! 

What the enemy meant for my bad, God turned it around for my good. So, I pray you who reads this gets the message that God has for you. Do not allow the enemy to win! Fight off his attacks with all your force and might knowing God has your back. Let nothing come between your will to put God first. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
