Who Is Jesus To You???

If you had to answer this question to someone who didn’t know who Jesus Christ was, how would you describe Him? What words would you use to say who He is and what He’s all about?

I’ll give you my answer in a bit but let me tell you what the Bible says. Paul wrote in Colossians 1:15-20 NLT, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

Now for me, Christ is all of those things and more. He is not just my savior, He is my friend. For when I was lost, He found me. When I was sick, He healed my body. When all hope was lost, His light and encouraging words guided me. When I was grieving, He comforted me. When I was cold, He warmed my heart. When I had no food, He provided nourishment for my body. When I was homeless with nowhere to go and no way to get to my parent’s house, He provided a place to stay and a way back. When I wanted to end it all, He saved my life. When I was lonely and had no one to talk to, He became my best friend. Every time I cried missing my grandmother and hating my life, He wiped my tears away whispering hope in my ears for a better day and even allowed her to visit me in my dreams.

That’s who Christ is to me! He’s everything I ever hoped for and everything I ever need. Man is flawed, but God is not. Man will always let you down, but God will not. Man will always be selfish, but God is selfless. Man will always say they love you but fail at showing it. God’s love NEVER fails! He loves us all. He cares about us. He wants to see us smile. He chuckles at our laughter. He hurts when we hurt and He rejoices when we are full of glee. God, Christ is love and love is within Him.

Today I pray for the skeptics, the non-believers, the lost, the hopeless and for those who do believe but may not be feeling God’s presence right now. I pray that each individual seeks God for themselves. I pray that each person develops a relationship that’s special, one that they can always call their own. I know what Christ is to me, so I pray that you figure out who He is for you. I pray that you find a way to get back to Him. I pray that you find solitude in the joy and love He offers you each and every day of your life. Let no one be harmed for the love of God is real. I pray His shield protects you from the storm and His Holy Spirit warms your body from the cold. I pray that you see Him today. Whether it be within a stranger you encounter, a coworker, friend, your mother / father / brother / sister / cousin / child / niece / nephew / uncle or auntie. No matter who it is, may your heart be filled with God’s love, comfort, peace and joy. May you find some reason to smile today. May He hear your prayers and grant you loads of blessings. Magic may not be real, but God’s love is. Take refuge in knowing that you are not forgotten. He knows your name even if you don’t know or don’t want to call out His. In Jesus name, I pray all these things come to pass. Amen.

May God be with you!

Sincerely with love,
