We may not always understand why sudden things happen like death, natural disasters and such tragedies as what we see today happening in places like Houston, Texas, Sierra Leone, Barcelona, Virginia, etc. I believe it’s in those tragic times when we need to turn to the only person who can help us the most–GOD!
So today’s prayer is a simple prayer that Jesus Christ taught. It’s a prayer that our grandmothers, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, grandfathers and godparents taught us as we were growing up. Jesus says, “Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:9-13 NLT).
Another passage to help us get through the tough times is found in Psalms 23 that simply starts with the toughest command, “THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD!” I strongly encourage you to read this word as you go through the storms in your life. May the Words of God be with those in need. May His grace and mercy fill you up as you’re going through this trying time giving you strength and courage to get through this storm.
Never forget that Jesus loves you! Though the roads are wet, the days seem weary, just know that all things work together according to the power of the Almighty God. Storms don’t last always. Better days are ahead. Just keep the faith calling on God to supply your needs. He will see you through this storm. Be blessed, be covered, be encouraged. You have people praying for you. In Jesus name Amen.
Sincerely with love,
