You’ve pissed off the wrong one today, Devil!!! The last few weeks, the enemy has been trying to attack me. He tried attacking my injured writing hand as it’s healing, but that didn’t work. He tried tempting me with lust and throwing me off course with distractions, but that didn’t work. He tried messing with my mind and disrupting my sleep, but that didn’t work. He tried interrupting my peace, yet still, that didn’t work. Well now, Satan has tried to attack my home. After years of being attacked by this enemy, I’m here to tell the devil: NOT TODAY!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
Since he poorly failed at ending my life two years ago, now he’s tried to send a demonic force to intrude my home and disrupt my peace. NOT TODAY, demon! You’ve messed with the wrong one! When it first occurred, I had no idea what was happening. It started early this evening as I was in the kitchen preparing dinner for my dog and I. Someone quietly entered our home and began rambling words I could not understand. Since I do not live by myself, my first impression was that it was a visitor for someone else. While not being properly clothed, I yelled out to the stranger that I wasn’t dressed. Immediately, a silence fell and I started getting curious as my dog was now standing in attack mode. I gave him a nod and he quickly ran after the female intruder. Before I could make a move, my grandmother came into the room where the intruder was and started talking to her and escorting her out of our home. It wasn’t until I heard my grandmother say, “Lady, you have the wrong house,” that I knew an intruder had just broken into our home.
After the incident, I immediately started ranting on my grandmother for leaving the screen door open and unlocked. She brushed it off as if it was not a big deal, but I knew better. We live in the city, so we have to be more cautious of our surroundings. After my lecture, I went up to my room, picked up my phone and told my mother what had just arisen. Interesting enough, instead of siding with me and scolding my grandmother for her foolish mishap, my mother scolded me for not being more proactive. Again, I had no idea it was an intruder and thought it was a visitor for my grandmother or mother, as they often have many people over. This factor didn’t matter to my mother.
After receiving my mother’s tongue lashing, I hung up the phone and finished watching an episode of the television show Supernatural and ate my dinner. I tried to brush it off, yet something my mother said was nagging me.
What if that person was scoping out our home to come back later to rob it?
I called one of my closest friends and we started talking about the incident and about God, the Bible and some of the lessons taught by Pastor John Gray. After pondering a recent sermon where Pastor Gray talked about intruders at his home trying to steal his car and how he deduced that the enemy must be feeling intimated by the anointing and authority over his life, I picked up my bible and started reading it. I searched for scriptures about enemy attacks and began studying what the word of God had to say. One of the scriptures that stood out to me was this:.
“When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.” (Psalms 27:2-3 NLT)
As I continued reading other scriptures, I tried to convince myself that the intruder was long gone and wouldn’t come back. Boy was I wrong!
“Evil people desire evil; their neighbors get no mercy from them.” (Proverbs 21:10 NLT)
“For evil people can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day. They can’t rest until they’ve caused someone to stumble.” (Proverbs 4:16 NLT)
Not long after my mother arrived to the house, that same female intruder tried to enter our home a second time. This time, since the door was locked, she rung the bell. Regardless of how odd this move was, I immediately leaped into action. I put on proper clothing, grabbed my phone which has my bible on it, grabbed a weapon and charged towards the door behind my mother. As my mother stood tall and strong calling the cops and badgering the lady as to who she was and why she was attacking us, I with both weapons in hand, clung to the knife in my right and my now open bible in my left hand. I began praying and reading, speaking words silently warding off the evil spirit for the lady seemed drunk, belligerent and incoherent.
““You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. ”” (Matthew 17:20 NLT)
As I continued reading and praying the word of God binding the demon away, the lady walked off. My mother went after the lady trying to keep her nearby for when the police arrived. As my mother ran across the street, I kept praying and started reading the word of God aloud. I commanded that my house would be protected and that no demon shall harm a soul in this house!
“If you repay good with evil, evil will never leave your house.” (Proverbs 17:13 NLT)
I knew that I could not play nor be nice with this demon. With all the strength I had and with tears welling in my eyes from rage, I spoke protection over myself, my family and our house. When the police showed up, I texted and called all of my prayer warriors, and immediately before I could get the words out, they sensed and knew something was wrong and started to pray.
““The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!” (Deuteronomy 28:7 NLT)
Tonight, we ALL touched and agreed in the spirit and prayed protection, coverage, provision and security over my life and the lives of my family. Afterwards, I continued my prayer for I was furious with the enemy. I could not believe he would be so bold as to try to come into my home. Through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, I cursed the enemy and all of his minions and decreed that this would be his final attempt upon my life.
I belong to God! My family is covered and protected by God! No man, woman, nor demon will harm us in Jesus name!
The enemy has tried so hard to see me fall, yet I rise! He’s tried so hard to see that I die, yet I still live! He’s tried so hard to bring fear into my life, yet I’m a conqueror. He’s tried so hard to keep me from progressing, yet through Christ I have the victory!!
“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” (1 Peter 5:10 NLT)
Today, I learned that I have power and authority to speak things over my life! Many times the enemy has tried to make me believe that I have no power nor authority and that I wouldn’t be able to walk out the path that God has set for me. Through the attacks in the past, I’ve questioned this path and if I’m strong enough to do what Christ has tasked me to do. Through my time with The Holy Spirit in my studies and prayers, I’ve learned my worth and how to trust in God’s plan. I thank The Lord that the enemy’s attempts aren’t going to be the death of me. I see where God is leading me and I walk by faith and not by sight into what He has in store for me.
Before, I may have had some doubts as to whether or not I have the authority and power to do what I’m called to do, but thanks unto God for tonight I’ve learned that I do have what it takes! With His protection, grace, and power, I was able to tell that demonic mountain (figuratively speaking) to move, and it did! I believed in myself and trusted in the power of the word of God. I’m so proud of myself for allowing God to show me this moment. Though it seemed scary at the time, I’m glad I was given the Holy Spirit of discernment to know that this was an attack from the enemy and that I needed to stand strong in the spirit and pray hard.
Now tonight, I ask that you who reads this prays for my family and I, as I will pray for yours. May the Lord show favor upon you, keep you all protected and guides you in the night when the enemy tries to attack. May you be strong enough, empowered enough and wise enough to know when he’s attacking. May the Holy Spirit of discernment wash over you all and enlighten you with its wisdom so that you are ready and equipped to handle any attacks from the enemy. May God cover you and grant you and your family his protective shield of angels, in Jesus’ name, I pray Amen.
Sincerely with love,
